Dr. Dance speaks at NYSDEA Conference!
Mr. Grant plans to address identity through dance within the classroom by sharing his BBX syllabus and methodology, with a script devoid of gender-based language, and an experience which enables ALL participants to rotate respectfully! Check him out on February 5th, 2023 at NYU! Click HERE to register.
NYC Cultural Affairs
Cultural Development Award!
For the first time in the history of our organization, we have received a CDF Grant from the NYC Department of Cultural Affairs! In a field of 1,300 applicants, our proposal for our Harlem Renaissance/Black History Month as well as our Hispanic Heritage Month Mini-Modules were funded!
BALLROOM BASIX is thrilled to connect co-workers in the same way we engage schoolchildren...with poise, positivity and politeness! It's really great to see educators, & administrators experience the exact same respectful, rotational instruction that all of our schoolchildren experience during our program!
Sizzling Swing and
Salsa Summer in
the Park Series!
Funded generously in part by a Creative Learning Grant from the LMCC (Lower Manhattan Cultural Council), BBX brought its "fun, fitness & fancy footwork" to four different upper Manhattan parks!
Founder & Artistic Director Sidney Grant was inspired by the pandemic to create a line dance parody to inform and inspire children and families as a way to help offset the isolation and anxiety of the COVID-19 crisis.
This viral dance was the subject of many social-distanced FLASH BASHES around NYC, & even in Ohio & St. Louis!

This #BeKind elementary school BALLROOM BASIX BASH is what we're all about. "We don't BEAT the other school; we MEET the other school!"
